STAGE STUDIOS UPDATE
As advice and information evolves daily, we continue to adapt our plans and strategies at Stage Studios.
Stage by Stage and Euridge School of Dancing remain committed to ensuring well-being and safety at Stage Studios and in all our theatrical productions. We are closely following the advice issued by Public Health England and abiding by guidance regarding the Coronavirus outbreak.
ANNIE and WE WILL ROCK YOU
The theatres have now closed and confirmed that our shows will be postponed. We are awaiting revised dates. Both shows are fully staged and we have bought costumes and built the scenery, so we are ready to proceed whenever we are permitted to do so.
In terms of purchased tickets, we propose to transfer bookings to equivalent dates in the first instance. If the new dates don’t suit, we can transfer or refund. We hope that will be acceptable.
Stage Studios is now closed as we follow the advice on social distancing. Our office will also be closed now until 14th April.
We are constantly referring to the latest official advice and will update members via social media and our website if and when further changes are necessary.
We hope we can all continue to work together to defeat the difficulties of this time.
‘A centre of excellence, building confidence and nourishing talent’
The Right Honourable Lord Mayor of Exeter
Stage by Stage Academy is the unique performing arts school which has been based in the heart of Exeter since 1994. We are not part of a franchise: Stage by Stage devotes all its energy and focus to the young people of this area! Our practical and progressive training prepares young performers to become confident all-rounders in singing, dancing and acting, either as a preparation for further vocational training, or simply for the fun of it!!!
Integral to the learning process are the full stage productions we mount, which allow for real on-stage experience for every single student. Our shows have garnered rave reviews in venues across the city, including ‘Annie’, 'Grease', 'Les Miserables' and ‘West Side Story’ at the Northcott Theatre, as well as further afield, with ‘The Company of Wolves’ and ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ receiving 5-star acclaim at the Edinburgh Festival, and ‘Children of Eden’ proving a major hit in London’s West End!
PUT SIMPLY, CONCERTS AND SHOWCASES ARE NO REPLACEMENT FOR THE EXPERIENCE OF HAVING TO TELL A WHOLE STORY THROUGH SONG, DANCE AND ACTING!
REAL SHOWS - NOT "SHOWCASES"
Each show is designed to reinforce the training in technique carried out in class throughout the whole STAGE BY STAGE academic year, and to challenge the skills and abilities of every one of our performers.
As a result of our training, STAGE BY STAGE students are frequently cast in professional theatre productions, such as the national tour of ‘Annie’ and ‘Oliver’, BBC Radio and television, including leading roles in children’s TV programmes. Many of our graduates have gone on to even greater success at top vocational colleges such as the Brit School, Mountview, LIPA, Bristol Old Vic, Arts Educational, Millennium College, Central School of Speech & Drama and RADA.
A wide range of examinations are available through STAGE BY STAGE, which is a registered centre for GCSE and A’ Levels. Dance and drama exam preparation is taken as a separate option by many of our students, who regularly achieve the very highest grades. However, many students are equally happy to pursue our classes purely as a stimulating hobby.

STAGE BY STAGE has a membership of over 200 children, aged between 4 and 20 years, all working towards a common goal: joy in performance!
